“A painting lives only through the one who looks at it.”
Joëlle Vander’s life has been a non-traditional one. She has led a Bohemian life in the world of the Circus arts and Gala evenings until that oil painting becomes an existential outlet for her. As a complete self-taught artist, Joëlle Vander first focused on figurative art but now gives also free rein to her imagination. She paints with knife and rubber brush to give relief to her paintings. Her landscapes are provincial and Greek-inspired. Her painting style is evolving towards Imaginary and Modernism. Her palette includes hot colors with red, yellow, orange, ochre and blue tones.
